Start with a real use case
Before requesting a reseller trial, write down your market, the devices your customers use, how many accounts you expect to support, and the languages in which you can provide help. A panel with many buttons is not automatically useful if you cannot explain its account limits or troubleshoot a customer's first login. Selling access to content without the appropriate distribution rights creates risk for both you and the customer; request clear documentation for the territory and channels you intend to offer.
The 10 checks to perform
- Panel access: can you log in, reset your own password and see account status without sharing a master credential?
- Customer creation: create one test account and record the exact steps, fields and confirmation messages. Do not use a paying customer as your first test.
- Credits: ask what one credit represents, whether different plan lengths consume different amounts, and whether unused credits expire.
- Renewal: find out whether an account can be extended without changing the customer's login and what happens when it expires.
- Connection limits: distinguish devices on which an app is installed from streams allowed at the same time. Try the stated limit during the demo.
- Device setup: walk through one complete sign-in on a device your customers actually own; keep a support-ready setup note.
- Authorized content: ask the provider to identify which content it may distribute in your target market. A long channel list by itself is not proof of rights.
- Support route: send one specific technical question and note how to escalate a failed account or playback issue. Do not rely only on a sales chat.
- Billing terms: confirm the full charge, payment method, refund rules, cancellation process and any minimum credit purchase in writing.
- Export and continuity: ask what account data you can access if you stop reselling, and how customers receive service or support during an outage.
What should a trial prove?
A useful trial shows that you can complete a small customer journey: create an account, send the customer accurate setup instructions, sign in on a representative device, reach support and understand the renewal path. It cannot prove future uptime, coverage at every sports event or the legality of every channel. Record the date and conditions of your test so that later changes are not mistaken for the same offer.
If rights, costs, credit usage or cancellation remain vague, pause before buying a large package. A smaller reversible commitment is easier to evaluate than a bulk purchase based on a demonstration alone.
Questions to send before you pay
Ask for the current reseller agreement, a sample invoice, the credit conversion table, customer connection limits, support hours and the policy for failed activation. Request examples that match your intended country and device. If an answer is verbal, follow up in writing. This makes the terms easier to compare with another authorized provider and gives your own support team something concrete to use.
The TereaTV reseller page explains the current offer and where to ask for a demonstration. For a single household instead of a resale business, use the subscription guide; the buying questions are different.
